Fitzrovia Lates | Surface Tension
29 October 18:00 - 20:00
Venue: White Rainbow
Surface Tension is inspired by the idea of chouzetsu-gikou (superlative skill) – a phrase coined by Professor Yuji Yamashita – and brings together exquisitely skilful art works which draw on traditional techniques yet offer perspectives on life in Japan today.
For October’s Fitzrovia Lates event, White Rainbow is pleased to present a flower installation by London based florist Sawa Kindo in response to the exhibition. Combining Ikebana and English flower arrangement techniques with Japanese vases and found objects in flea markets in Europe, Kindo creates a spatial dialogue with the exhibition and art works on display.
